Probably my Algal Bloom. Running it into a distorted amp sounds like I think things should sound.
I reaallllyyy want to try a Fuck Overdrive though. After I sell some stuff I'll get one o' those and a DD-20 I think.

depends what you want.

for low-medium gain i always recommend barber.

for medium gain... i go barber again :)

haven't had much luck in the high gain territory, i usually just stack two od's together for that

Fuzz Factory - can do a lot of things, and I never use the exact same setting; There are heavier and sweeter sounding pedals but FF was always on my board :)

-Liquid Gain, Hydra
It is sound so natural... the best overdrive I ever tried.

-Dr. Scientist, The Elements
It sound so great and so versatyle (clean boost, overdrive, distortion, fuzz and EQ)

-Fairfeild Circuitry, Four Eyes
So versatyle... lots of different sound... can be control with an expression pedal.

-Plum Crazy FX, Fuzzy Lady
It have lots of character and the bias knob is amazing... goes from big fat fuzz to gated fuzz.

I totally agree with you! If we're not just talking about overdrives then yeah the Fuzz Factory is my favorite.

I think there are a lot of pedals that sound better, but there's something about the sound of the Fuzz Factory that I really love. I think it has a lot of character haha

Second favorite is the Torns Peaker!

i always say my old Distortion+, and i'm not going to stop now. for higher gain, i've really come to love Buzzarounds...i have a Sound Shank which i ruv rong time, and if i was full of money i'd get one of the Ghost Effects ones. and then there's my small-box Algal Bloom, which covers a whole lot of territory very well indeed.

Generally speaking amp dirt is the best dirt, I think.

But in pedal form, definitely the Fuck. Fuck OD should be the official ILF overdrive with all the love it gets. It doesn't color your tone. It's just you playing but with dirt, yaddamean? And the hi-cut is nice for changing the character of the distortion/overdrive.

Fuck OD is excellent. Very versatile (from a semi-clean boost to amp-exploding fuzz, with everything in between). Sounds really great.

Another great versatile OD is the D*A*M Sonic Titan.

Other favourites 'round here: Marshall Shredmaster/Guv'nor (old version), ProCo RAT (older models w/ LM308 chip).

And then there is FUZZ...buth that's another world...
