DR became my string of choice a few sets back, haven't considered anything else since except for naked strings.

Tried a good portion of strings including ernie ball, d'addario, and dean markley...still, nothing compares.

I know there's lots of D'Addario love all over, but I've had nothing but problems with every set I've ever tried from them. Multiple bad batches over the course of 10 years? I hope not. The last time I tried them I got one of those multipacks with extra high E strings, doing some misc. setup work for some friends. I went through every high E in the whole box trying to get the strings on one guitar set up; they all broke in the different spots all over the fretboard while tuning up to E. Every one broke before I reached Eb.

D'Addario can suck my dick hard and long. But hey, use what works for you!

Fender strings, fender strings for a fender guitar, it only makes perfect sense. Also, D'addarios, suck, my friedns uses them they break all the time. He then switch to ghs boomers, which were okay, they felt really bad, they were way to hard, it was painfull to play. Ernie ball which I've used in the past, are also really not that great, they break every couple of weeks (like 4 or 5) and they sound kinda week. Fender strings, that's it and that's all.

the reason i didn't like D'Addarios, which i used for several years, even when i liked the hi-fi sound was that they went dead too quickly, like about 2 weeks. for most of my life i've used Ernie Ball strings, but i certainly wouldn't recommend them for "chime" or "bell-like tone" LOL...in fact, what i like about them is that they're relatively lacking in high-fidelity niceness and instead give me rock and roll snap and growl. i haven't had string-breakage problems with any brand of strings in a long time other than from detuning/retuning repeatedly, problems with a bridge/vibrato, or trouble setting up the pedal steel (when that high G# snaps while you're tuning, watch out!).

I use Dean Markley Blue Steels for everything. They're the brightest string I've come across, and for a while, they made a set of 13s for guitar. Plus, cheap. Also, fender strings have always been the worst strings I've ever used so :idk:

Ultimately, new strings are the best strings.

Hearing a lot of good things about DR from the trusted ILF brethren though, may have to try them out. :)

DR and Ernie Ball Slinky are the best for me.

I've used nothing but D'Addario strings on guitar, haven't thought of using anything else.

As for bass, I've been peer pressured into trying out Galli, which should get here next week.

Are there any really light flatwounds put there? I say real light because I got some nice "regular" flats on an old duo sonic and it messed up the intonation cause they were HUGE! Buy I loved the super feel and cool sound.

Was a super slinky user for years-started breaking a bunch of strings.... Switched to DR. Didn't like them. Switched to D'Addario and haven't looked back.

I'm interested in these naked strings, anyone try em? Right now, I have Ernies on my LP because I need 11s. If anyone knows of a good brand that makes 11s, let me know, and I'll love you long time
So this turned into another devi thread...

I used to be a Ernie ball slikie guy but then I used the Dunlop strings ...........and I like them. Cheep, sound great and last a while for being 20 dollar bass strings.
