I know you have had your orange for a while. I like the sounds that have come out of that amp.

I heard that the super bassman was going to be 2k when it came out.

I love that amp. I find it's clean sound on the bright side for bass, but you can rol off tone, or put a EQ in the FX loop. It's dirty sound though... is my favorite dirty sound this side fuzz. I really lucked out on that amp, it was a "scratch and dent" so I got it for 2K :thumb:

The new bass looks interesting... the Bassman 400 was a repacked version of the "sunn" made in the 90's though.

How do you like the Orange on guitar?

Also, any chance of you demo'ing your amps?

Just get an ad200 and an emperor cab. Then come to my basement and we can wreck shit with orange love.

I definitely recommend Sunn or Ampeg.

What kind of speaker/cab set up are you thinking of using?

And that was my next question is too what I would get speaker wise. So many different options.

Everyone tells me emperor cabs are the shit.

Emperor cabs are definitely the shit! I use their guitar cabs but they sound huge and look sexy as hell, replaced both my Orange and Bogner cabs.

Prices are incredibly fair considering the custom options, whatever you need those guys will knock it out.

That can would cost roughly 1000.

I have a 2x12 that was 450.

My bassist plays either a solid state svt 350 or bassman 70 through ampeg 15 and 410...sounds nice but there is an overlap in the sound.

I say go with an orange or tube ampeg.

Or better yet a meatsmoke.

If you are planing on using a 2x12 cab I'd suggest:

Ampeg- B25B, V4 or VT22(V4 2x12 combo).

Sunn: 200S, 2000S or Sorado.

Reasonable prices for the B25B, 200S, and Sorado are $300-$600 depending on condition.

Reasonable prices for the V4 and VT22 $500-$800 depending on condition.

The 2000S normally go from $800-$1000.

My 2x12 was $450 shipped, 4x12 was $800.

Prices vary a bit based on speaker choice but you can get a quote quickly on their site.

i find the tube svt to be extremely fuzz unfriendly
i play a vintage one in a band and while it sounds great, it's already pretty throaty not much room for fuzz
played a classic at a gig recently, it only liked the rat, pretty disappointing
play the meatsmoke in another band, while it does sound great, im not a big fan of how it handles muff circuits, but that is pretty much unnecessary with the overdrive channel it has
you can find sunn 2x15's on CL locally for around 200 often
monolith is local as well

so many options!

I find a lot of stuff on CL to be sparse. I did a small search this morning and I really didn't find much.
