I have an original Wolftone Chaos I got years ago just before they were discontinued and it is fantastic. It's really great at everything from a light OD to full insanity. I don't use it as much as I would like because of the size and power requirements so I tried the Malekko version. It was ok but just not the same as the original. It didn't sound as good at lower gain and was a little too bright and brittle sounding for me.

Thanks for your input. There is an original on ebay I was considering but I didn't think I could justify it at 3 times the cost of the Malekko. So I cheaped out.

I've loved the guitar demos I've heard with it, but could never get it to play well with my bass... and by "well," I mean crazygonuts. It either sounded way too constricted or far too polite, with none of the sputtery filter noises I was hoping to get. Alas.

Sounds great, thanks for you tireless service of making these demos. I'll look more into the helium.
