I managed to make this clip while holding my newborn in a sling and holding the bass at my side!!!! Either way, just a quick little teaser clip to showcase the phenomenal tracking and fat-ass tone that this baby kicks out. More to come once I officially "clock in" at around 1 am!!!

You are terrible at bass

and the cubic sounded great. I want to hear what else it can do.

Really, though, I'm not trying to showcase my bass playing but rather the fact that the Cubic tracks incredibly fast and with accuracy.

HAHA the smile face with the tongue out was for emphasizing my sarcasm or jokingness. Your playing was not bad at all.

Haha, I figured it was a joke but I am terrible at interpreting Internet sarcasm!!! I'm gonna do some more in depth clips tonight, but keep in mind that this is a prototype and I'm sure there are some revisions autopilot will want to make once he gets some feedback.

Diggin a little deeper...
It gets loud, seriously...
1. Clean tone P Bass Dlx with dead strings all highs rolled off, and volume slighlty dimmed.
2. Clean Octave: filter and ??? knob ccw
3. filter-12:30, ??? ccw
4. filter-12:30, ???-12:30
5. filter-3:00, ???-12:30 (loud!)
6. filter-12:30, ???-3:00 (louder!)
7. filter-12:30, ???-dimed (louder still?)
8. filter-3:00, ???-dimed (still pretty loud)
9. everything dimed with xerograph deluxe low pass filter switch up.
http://soundcloud.com/marcsterlingbass/ ... rototype-1All of these clips are with the switch in the down position except the last. The volume and blend are both all the way up throughout. This is a prototype, so there is some tweaking to do with the balance of volume/blend. When I get the revised version, I will demonstrate the ability to blend in any amount of octave with the clean signal, increasing the versatility even more.
I am very impressed...

Holy smokes! I'm not usually a fan of octave down on bass beyond my Pog, but that sounds awesome. Really looking forward to getting my hands on one to try it out. That tracking is SICK!

Ok, so I used the Cubic a couple times Friday night at a gig. One time was for straight clean octave blended 50/50 with the clean to accompany keyboard and guitar solos. The next time was with a very fuzzy sounding octave paired with an envelope filter. It can definitely do the sub-octave fuzz nicely, and it sounds great through a filter. The last time was with the expression pedal doing long sweeps on lpf. The fact that it sounds so good with a filter makes me like the idea of a gate even more. At one point my guitar player leaned over to me and said it sounded bad-ass.
In this little video, I am basically just running through some of the settings I found be useful. At the end I turn on the Xerograph Deluxe to demonstrate how it sounds with a filter. I will do a video with the expression pedal and a direct comparison with a Boss OC-2 when I get the final version. Let me know what you think! Thanks!
