Old digital units are my friends, they live nicely (or not, which is just as good) with ugly fuzz.

Will admit that I have a fondness for rack units, analog or digital - I like things with knobs and that I can route through one footswitch set instead of taking up a moon lander's worth of control space.

And old digital will be the next "vintage", I can see it now. ;)

I do appreciate that you can add in a lot of bass, but it still sounds bleh to my ears. But I'm keeping it because my dad gave it to me.

It's all about Entombed and Dismember (crushing swedish death metal guitar), and a little bit of My Bloody Valentine (add shimmer to fugly distortion). Those are the only two sounds it's good for, but they are good sounds.

I don't know if I couldn't live without it, but I have had tons of fun freaking out my Dano Chili Dog. It's been one of my mainstays for making messed-up, glitched-out suboctave noises. I have my POG2 if I want things to track well, but if I want glitchy, globulous MUD (which in all honesty, I do from time to time) it's Chili Dog all the way.

Yea, I have one too, and like it, but it's not quite cheesy enough for me on this. It's merely cheap and effective.

I've had one of these on and off since I traded a triangle big muff for one some time around 1984 ...

I traded my Ram's Head around 92-93. I don't even want to tell you guys what i traded it for. One of those trades that still gives me nightmares.

Fair enough... I guess my Ibanez Thrashmaster Soundtank was pretty cheesy. That was a mainstay on my board for many years, used only for breakdowns (not the metal/br00tz kind, though) or dramatic shifts when I temporarily wanted to remove all of the bass side of the EQ from my bass guitar. Yay bass trebulz!

My bassist let me borrow a DOD death metal pedal and I haven't given it back yet.... with the treble rolled back and the mids cranked... it's shoegaze sex.
