Pretty sure the money offer to get the original trio together again is the only reason Lou is still around. He's just such a cock. I can totally understand why someone would want to throw him out of a band and belittle him for years. Also, I can't help but to think every sebadoh song was written about J. That last part probably isn't true, but I still like to humor the idea. :p

Can't speak to the personal invective against Lou, but I believe that he's gone on record saying that the first couple of Sebadoh albums were chock full of songs about J. Personally, 85% of Bakesale ranks up there with some of my favorite indie ever (not to mention "Brand New Love").

And from what I've heard, everyone in Dino jr was a jerk until they were about 30. But hey, that's just the way it goes. Sometimes jerks make great music.

In total agreement with the Bakesale sentiment,in particular, the Jason Lowenstein tunes. From what I understand,Lou's shit-talking and bash-songs(The Freed Pig,True Hardcore, etc.) are due to the fact that J. hit him in the head with a guitar onstage. I don't know how much of a factor money was in the reunion. It's not like they're Aerosmith. But either way,I'm glad it happened. Because Beyond and Farm are great fuckin' albums. And let's not forget that Murph has a lot to do with how badass they were/are. Dude kills on some drums.

check out the 5th question from the bottom. straight from the horse's mouth.

don't get me wrong, I love dinosaur jr. i've seen them many times, and have talked to j. and murph a few times. they were both really cool every time i talked to them. Both were totally cool to answer questions, talk about gigs, and have never seemed to be in a hurry when it comes to that type of stuff. lou, on the other hand, just seems to be the diva rockstar of the bunch. never really seen him talk to anyone (fans, j. or murph) outside of recorded interviews . :idk:

Saw Dino Jr at Primavera Festival in Spain a few years back. We got there early to get up front. When we got there, the lads were onstage testing out their amps and stuff and it was pretty comfortably loud. It was only after a few minutes that we realised that what we were hearing was actually only the amps on stage. They weren't even going through the PA at that stage!!! This was on a large outdoor stage and we were quite a few feet away. Needless to say, the volume was deafening but beautiful when they went through the PA :)

Also, Farm may actually be my favourite Dinosaur Jr album I think. So many amazing songs and J's singing is the best he's ever done imho.

One time, I went to a benefit show and J was scheduled to play. It was mostly a bunch of local bands and it was in this rental hall. I thought he would be doing a solo acoustic thing but the whole band showed up. It was right around the time of the reunion and it was very exciting. They had the amps angled up and it was actually louder in the back of the room.

I've talked to Lou a few times solo or when he toured with sebadoh great dude, the one time I saw him with dino some idiots were
bringing up shit about him and J not getting along and when they played people were yelling out songs he's never
played on like literally yelling "Hey Lou play Puke and Cry!"

Yeah they played songs he didn't play on when I saw them too (Feel the Pain) but these assholes were totally
taunting him between every song, it was actually funny after awhile because other people in the audience started
yelling at them telling them to shut the fuck up.
