Im using Jazzmaster > megalith > heavy machine > wet > el capistan > RRR > amp for my gazey stuff atm. The megalith is my all time fave gaze fuzz as it sounds fucking awesome through reverb, all nicely washed out and not too spiky. The Heavy Machine is for a fuzz variant, and theres the more heavy on megalith too!. And 2 reverbs are essential

Big Muff > M9 would do it for me. I'd run the RAT, Verb and whatever on the M9... but I'd always have the RAT as my second sound 'cos it sounds pretty fricken good on the M9 IMO. I can't wait to get my hands on one and actually have it be mine (the m9 that is)

(that's why i have a SPX90 and a GEP 50 )
If you don't need to stack two verbs or two delays, there's always the FX-500. Which is only a half rack space. If only I had been fast enough to get that for $25 on CL.
I'm not ready to go all-in on guitar-->MagicStomp-->amp, but it opens some things up. And I'm not sure I could limit myself to just one dirt pedal to go with.

i don't use the rack very much because it's a pain in the ass to hook up, the Yamahas are rather noisy, and because it's covered in carpet and the cats shred it with their claws. SPX90 in the effects loop of the GEP50 = reverb + early reflections = reverb to die for. i also have a MidiVerb II in the rack, which i suppose i should just call "Little Kevin" and dispense with all pretense.

Wonder how you set that Megalith so that it sounds shoegazey. Or maybe it's just my ears. Enlighten me!
To me the Megalith sounds more like a gazey pedal than a doom pedal I set up the notch so its not too bright, but not too bassy either and run it into the Wet with full depth. Instant washed out noise. I hear the Megalith as a a kind of massive cotton wool ball fuzz, rather than a cutting fuzz like the for eg Meathead. The Heavy Machine has a similar fuzz to the Megalith but is a little more cutting, it has a chewier sound which is awesome for Ride like sounds with a Ric. May be able to do a few clips today if all goes well
