Siouxie Sioux and the Banshees was already mentioned, but it bears repeating..
Also, I heard a band recently called THE MACHINE. (the full title was (name of female vocalist) and THE MACHINE, but I cant remember her name...she was kind of a weird cross between Bjork and the girl from Yeah Yeah Yeahs)
