doubt it :P

No, because they're in the studio, making the real money.

And actually, I've seen a lot of country and pop artists rock Spectors. Check out their artist list.

No. No you're not.

I don't think you'll see many Spectors in the studio, either. Most engineers hate recording active basses.

here's a pic of both my shorties, btw. An old treadmill, too!

See, I've had the complete opposite experience (either in the studio myself, or talking with engineers) with active basses in the studio. I've even had engineers rent my bass to use in studios for bands they're recording. It comes down to preference and what you're comfortable with.

I checked one of those out today... wasn't even worth plugg'n in IMOP, meh. Also, the body is too small.

On that note. Now I love[ed] fenders and fender type basses but I swear I haven't played a new fender in like 8 years where I thought it was worth buying. On the other hand play a epi goth bari LP that was fucking rad!

Well...

Alembic? :duck:

 yeah, they cost a pretty penny. Are the shortie Musicmans in the price range? they ROCK!

Other than that I'd suggest the mentioned Gretsch.Or the Fender. Or if You go to Gibson/Epiphone, I suggest the Gibson EB-3, since all the Epiphone EB-0s I've tried have sounded muddy. Too little trebls for my taste.

Have You considered a Bass VI copy, perhaps, if You're used to play with a pick?
