SHO clones are in hand. Man are they small!!! Fits in a 1590a in either orientation.
Here's the test build. If anybody wants it, I'll sell it on the cheap. Also, I'm putting together kits for the other prototype boards. It'll be a short run, but I can always order more.

I tested the superfet today and it made my $20 practice amp sound like a dumble

but seriously I like it a lot. not as loud as I thought it would be on full blast but its loud enough. there is a mod for a DC mosfet feeding the power rail of a SHO to make it louder. I think its on DIYstompboxes. just saw it a few days ago. super heated SHO. I think rick holt did it.

Perhaps. I still need to fully test the design to make sure everything is a-okay. But probably. Already have all the on-board parts ready to go.

I was gonna have you do a tiny layout for a rangemaster but badbean just updated his site with a 1590a rangemaster. I swear he is reading my thoughts errr posts :tinfoil hat:
its 1.2" x 1.5", I dont know if it will fit but I dont really like building in these tiny 1590A anymore.

I think you should make a silicon YAFF board with 5k starve pot all PC mount pots and a dip8 socket for Q1 Q2 and the last two pins to socket the input cap. pads on the edge for alligator clips for Biasing Q1 and Q2. on-board LED and led resistor. what do you think? I would want it to fit a 125B with the pots laid out in a triangle pointing up. led just to the left of the middle knob. you can also put solder pads to make it easy to jumper the two resistors that are in the YAFF but not in the fuzz face. so I can just drip some solder on it to jumper. I will draw it and post it. I'm serious but not in a rush.

I think I could mount the led on the PCB and bend it up to the LED hole. I prefer to not use LED bezels. they dont protect the LED as good as solid aluminum and they cost $0.50. do you think this kind of build is good for PCB mount audio jacks? maybe even mount the power on the PCB? I'll be ordering 10 or 12 of these. you could sell them in your shop too. I'm gonna order printed boxes too. maybe you can sell kits as PCB + black powdercoated and screenprinted box with PCB jacks? boxes come $64 free shipping in 10 packs. I'm gonna drop-ship them to my screen printer. it would decrease in price to throw another 10 boxes at the screen printer. let me know what you think.
