Yeah I like their style! *smile*

This is a great idea, I don't think we've ever thought of doing one in a really 80s style and we'll have to do that for sure with this new one! It's tough cause the 80s can mean so many different cool things.. you have an idea in mind for an 80s finish?

You like some stereo chorus hey, Blake? You wanna trade me a big box of New York candy for one??

I was just thinking neon and geometric. ;) I love the nostalgic Weird Science vibe. Or anything John Hughes.

are there new tricks you need to figure out for this pedal that you can't borrow from the new trem design?
if not, this guy shouldn't be too much of a headache.

I just saw this thread! I finally picked up a Cosmichorus after finding out your birthday deals aren't covered by those finishes... I prefer to buy direct when possible, especially for an awesome builder that I want to support, so I do apologise but I wanted THAT finish since I had waited all that time. Oh well I got one in the end! And this looks SPLENDID and I will be definitely picking one up the day it's released (or close enough he he).

I am that impressed with the Cosmi I felt I've had it all along. I've wanted it for the past 3 or so years (or that "sound") and made do with various oddities here and there. I loved the VB2 and and glitchy delay combination I once had that got the warbles on but this thing does it all in the one box! And not just that it did the subtle stuff a lot better than I expected. It's my FIFTH Dr Scientist pedal and I'm not really a fanboi of anything and usually go by specs and more often than not it just happens to be that these pedals meets my criteria. Just a bonus that they look cool and can get a custom one to match your tastes (I'm all for aesthetics if and where plausible as long as it means keeping both livers, or was that kidneys? ha). In all seriousness the original, or at least the version I have, is absolutely wicked. So many good things to say about it. I bet the new one Ryan has in the works will be tops.

Also Ryan, as well as the Zombies being one of the two most memorable Cosmis, a new design with the reverse side of the sun... maybe a twilight zone of sorts (so when you put them together you have a sun in the middle with two different realities). Hahaha. I think I have too much spare time on my hands and still remember when the Vex "group pedals" were all the buzz in the 00s as the "holy grail of effects" (funny how people changed their tune when they saw the price, ne-hehehe).

I just noticed there's a vactrol on the breadboard! Is that a new addition?

Thanks Kev, and right you are, the Tremolessence has paved the way for this CC! I spent about a month experimenting in new chorus directions though, trying out different clocks and the 3207 vs the 3007 and ended up pretty much right back at the CC except for some tweaks to make it clip less and be able to run hotter. I just haven't had much time lately to work on the first pcb.. I've got it half done but I don't get much time every day, been scrambling to make Trems and pay the bills for them!

Holly is just the goofy computer on Red Dwarf, he says that in some episode, comments on how amazing or fantastic he is... been watching a lot of Red Dwarf again lately.

Shae, thanks for picking up a CC and I'm glad to hear you're digging it! The new CC isn't going to wander from the last version, the sounds will be the same.

There's actually 5 opto-couplers on that breadboard, the Vactec one that you're seeing is for the rate control. That's how I'm doing rate now so it works with an expression pedal. Oscillators usually use a variable large series resistance (1M) to alter the rate but expression pedals are generally 50k Ohms or less, so I use the opto to be able to use a low value pot and still have a really wide range of rate.

The other 4 optos are hand rolled and they're handling the wet/dry mix. I'm doing it that way again for the use of an expression pedal... there's no such thing as a dual ganged expression pedal so the stereo mix needs to be controllable by a single pot and the optos make that really easy.

The switching is handled by the 8DIP micro in the top left corner plus the two navy blue relays by the bottom right jack. (Good thinking though, Blake, you smart cookie)

Oh... that's how you ended up doing it...things get muddled in my mind. I remember you talking about vactrols, micros and switching at various times during the design of the new Tremolessence and forgot what did what where. But seriously, pm your address. I thought I saved the it, but now I can't find it.

We only have candy in the summer months here... some candy trees hibernate through the long winter while other candy trees migrate south to warmer weather.
