However, I'm biased. I drink Absinthe, and I play post-rock. The Oscillation mode is VERY useful to me.


If you don't play noise-rock, and you want a slick fuzz with a different feel, and awesome tone, get the Algal Bloom. Dare I say, it's the best value in fuzz.

If you ask me, Tom should have been the one flipping his shit. Any fuzz Tom makes is cheaper, better sounding( especially in live settings), and prettier to look at. I know, because I've owned a FF and many, many Fuzzhuggers

I bought an absynth first, 2 weeks after it arrived I bought my algal bloom. Pretty much what everyone says sums it up, once you get one, you get the other. I have to wait until Christmas for my bloom (sent it to my parents house and they covered the bill) but Tom's fuzzes are the best I have played/heard. Honestly I hated fuzz before my absynth.

Roll the guitar/bass vol pot back and You can do synth bass. Or straight out wall of fat oscillating synth drone. Psychedelic UFo blips with a bit knob tweaking. Retarded troll babies crying in the crib by rolling vol back and forth before delay. Lot's of insanity available from playing with this baby.
