2 loads that's killer. What miles Davis did you find?
Both are live albums... One is Miles & Monk at Newport. Basically 2 different shows, 1 album. Miles sextet from 1958 and Monk quartet from 63, album was released in 64. Both truly INCREDIBLE performances by all involved. I've been meaning to pick up the reissue on CD that has more material from both shows but this is the original album which I was more than happy to find, especially for cheap, and I think vinyl suits the material better... but doesn't it always?!!
The other is 'Four' & More. Recorded 1964 in NYC. A jaw dropping powerful performance with amazing feel and tempo, unreal.
My Miles material was sadly limited to a several compilation CDs, so I've been attacking that with my love of vinyl. Any Miles album recommendations would be appreciated!
I'll do a miles post soon on the blog. I have more than I can name. Sketches of Spain is great, bitches brew for electric miles. I really like on the corner just to rattle off a few
