Dialed this one in no problem, could see it becoming and always/mostly-on pedal in my setup. Also, the VTF, Pharaoh, and Algal Bloom sound incredible when you run 'em into the AA! The graphic with the Aardvark riding the Centaur rodeo style is a great touch too!

Fuzz before OD? :wha?:

Right, I was surprised myself! Definitely preferred it after fuzz, though it sounds cool both ways, just different. Actually saw that tip mentioned in another AA! thread somewhere around ILF so I gave it a go.

OD after fuzz is great! I like it more than the other way around as long as it doesn't smother the fuzz tone.

Waiting on an AA and the Pharaoh, should be here soon...

Is there really an order for OD or Dist or Fuzz.?. Right now I'm running EHX Black Finger (compression first, before Fuzz, what?) > EHX 2ube > Pigtronix Attack Sustain > Noisemaker Dead Hipster > Nine Volt Nirvana Dinosaur Fuzz > Algal Bloom > Finger Print > Chalice > Algal Bloom XS > AB-Synth > Chk Chk Boom w/ DOD Death Metal Distortion in the loop (or Digitech Grunge or DOD Gonkulator) > Jero Sleazy Drive > Great Wall 3k > Snowdrift > El Capistan... When I get the AA and Pharaoh they will fit in the middle around the Finger Print I'm thinking and should work well with any combination of pedals before or after them... I am also waiting on the Jero civil war clone that will get thrown in there somewhere... I think any combo of Fuzz or OD or Distortion sound good in any order, but that's just cause I like it crazy huge and wild sounding...

I run what I'd call a really traditional signal chain:

Tuner -> Wah -> boost pedal (like a SHO, in my case it's a BYOC Triboost, but alas) -> Overdrive -> Distortion -> Fuzz -> Modulation (and this can get stepped out into its own order, too) -> EQ pedal -> Amp.

Except right now I've pulled out the wah because I don't use it, and have no distortion, just boost, OD and fuzz. Only pecularlarity to this setup that I use is that I put an Ernie Ball volume pedal after all the gain pedals so I can dial things down to the right levels, prevent modulation from being distorted, and get BIG FUZZ NOISE while dialing the volume down to a lot quieter level that could slip under other instruments & a singer (if I played with other folks..)

I'll definitely have to try the AA after fuzz though. Right now my board has a welcoming spot for it before all the fuzz. Given the chance I might spend 48 hours rearranging my board and tweaking.. Also I need to build a looper with a couple loops..

Both the Pharaoh and AA! seem to take anything I throw before them and make it better. Definitely try your Algal Bloom into the Pharaoh, results in some of the heaviest tones I've ever heard come out of my amp!

As for general order, I usually run fuzz first, then OD and distortion down the line but I always just check everything out, see which way sounds better. You've got an amazing collection of Fuzz/Dirt going on in that chain, imagine there would be several ways to set that up resulting in drastically different results.

i do it all the time! i never use the fx loop on any of my amps and the love buzz doesnt have one so if you are using any pedals at all you are running them into od anyway so... :idk:

generally i have a singing tree or and aardvarks or both after my fuzz!
