Who has tried the Fuck Overdrive?

I used one at practice last night and I have a crazy horse at the moment. I don't think they sound anything alike, but I rarely run the CH with the fuzz dialed out and the drive up. I could try.

I really liked the OD sound of the Fuck, didn't play around with the momentary switch much - pretty much grabbed it out of the mail and plugged it in. The CH is noisier and does some random feedback and screeches (at least how I set it). With the Fuck you could get a more controlled feedback.

I'd be happy to compare them, hit me up with questions. I'll warn you ahead of time that I suck at describing sounds and using standard 'tone words'.

Care to expand on the rhythm sentiment? I'm a rhythm-focused guitarist so I'm excited to hear this, just curious.

For one, it does much neater modulations with chords. It's thick and clear, and sorta adds its own chunk. It doesn't really create a searing roaring lead-tone, unless you crank the gain. Even then, it's still pretty full and driving. Make sense?

I've had the CH for a couple of years, used it a lot in my old band but not so much in the new one. Trade offer came along that I couldn't turn down.

My BIGGEST question is... With the fuck mode, can you get a more subtle crackly type of sound? Like where it doesn't MAJORITY cut out? I'm assuming there is an intensity knob so based on how hard you play, will determine how much it'll cut out. I'm planning on using it for running samples and keys through to give it an unstable sort of sound.

yeah you can, it just takes a little getting used to the threshold level (which is the knob that controls the intensity).
if you want a gainy sound which is unstable, it's a bit easier to dial in than a cleaner one since rising gain on the fuck = more subtle crackle. still totally possible either way, it's just that the gain control and threshold control are pretty interactive in an interesting way.

it's easier to think of like this... low gain = crackles/gating, med gain = crackling/compression, high gain = compression/eq changes

Still getting the hang of the blaster but I should be able to get a couple more done this weekend I'll see if I can get anything usable from practice tonight as well. We record with a room mic, sometimes you can make out what's going on

Timmy sounds closer on the recording, in the room you could hear the high end of the Timmy more. The fuck feels thicker if that makes any sense. Funny to look at the wav files, the CH is pretty flat and square.

Have to say I'm really digging the Fuck. Will def be buying one if Eric wants this one back.
