Nice. Don't mean to sound picky, but I don't really want to use a laptop. Still a cool setup. I have a duet and like it quite a bit. Leaning toward either the 2880 or the Boomerang at this point.

Watched part of a demo for the vox looper (the guy demoing it was hard to watch and listen to). Looks cool but I'm under the impression it can only do two independent tracks.

Yeah, the Vox looper is limited to two tracks, for a total of 90 seconds of loop time. Not that much at all, or a lot, depending on what you're using it for (as an 8 bar backing track/chords to your playing, it's probably plenty.)

So from what I gather the Jam man is more of a good tool for practice than performance looping. Plus, I want something dedicated to looping, not something trying to package in a reverb in the same unit, since it seems to make the interface that much more complicated or cluttered.

the fx on the vox intrigue me...seems like a nice all in one setup for ambient wacky space loops

Hah, that is really cool! Reggie Watts does some pretty original inspiring work.
He's using the DL4 and the 2880 side by side there. Probably a pretty slick combo.
I've been thinking of going for a DL4 as my first looper. Plus it's a very functional delay.
Maybe i will get one modded by Drasp one of these days. I also hear good things about the
Akai E2 Headrush pedal, which was used in all the best Don Caballero songs of yesteryear.
