If you like the Truly Beautiful Disaster sounds but don't care about the feedback loop/photo eye feature (and/or if you want to save some money) you could go with the "Beautiful Disaster."

monkeydancer wrote:If you can find one the Zoom Ultra Fuzz is great for crazy sounds, it has really controllable oscillation (or uncontrollable if you want) that can be changed with the volume knob. It does a nice range of sounds: low gain, vintage-y fuzz, big muff, velcro, explosions, weird arpeggiation...

I have one, like it, not intending to kick it off the pedalboard. At $60 new it was a deal. The ask on used can be crazy these days, though. Considering that very good current-production fuzzes can be had starting for $150 or less, that's a good "are you nuts?!" point.

I've seen a lot listed at insane prices I wouldn't pay for most custom stuff, but I don't think I've ever seen one sell for that much. That is why I mentioned being able to find one though, I had to wait for 5 months of pretty frequent checking before I found one for a decent price. :idk:

This. Plus you have a footswitch for noise rather than a toggle, which could be very advantageous.

ok, i'm going to try the Buzz Bomb. i really like the way it sounds! i think it doesn't have the oscilators and stuff, but that can wait. for now i only need a badass fuzz sound and from what i've heard so far, this one rips!
thanks a lot for your suggestions.

yes.
how is the volume with this pedal? does it have plenty, is there any volume drop?
have you tried it with a wah pedal? do you think it sounds nice?
can the stuttering effect be easily controled?
and have you played with it in a band situation with a bass and drums? does it come out of the mix of the rest of the instruments or is it buried?
does it kicks ass as much as i am imagining? :)
thank you very much.

yes, thank you for your suggestion! but i think i prefer the sound of the buzz bomb better...it sounds more upfront(?), mean and abrasive, and that is what i need. but this is only my judging by the reviews and soundclips... maybe the people who have both might think otherwise ?

Lots of volume, I run mine below 5.
Haven't tried it with a wah... I'll do this and let you know.
The stuttering effect is controlable... I like it when I lower the volume on my guitar.
I don't have a band at the moment... I think it would cut through.
Yes it kick ass a lot, but you have to get use to it... the sound feel like there is electricity through your guitar strings and wires.

Freq switch UP... work well with a wah.
Freq switch DOWN... no... but that's normal, you already have an intense filter sweep there.

I just check and I keep the volume between 2 -3 to unity sound.

Gnometron.

Seriously. I've been looking for years for that fuzz that makes me go "AAAHHHHH MY FUCKING EARDRUMS ARE BLEEDING BUT IT FEELS SO GOOD." The octave up + a filter will do that. Switch some switches and you can get some crazy oscillating arpeggiating out of control stuff.

Earthquaker HoofReaper is pretty bangin too. Tonebenders and Muffs with an octave up all in one box? Come on. Seriously pretty awesome. If you run the Tone Reaper side full blast into the Hoof side it gets pretty scrambled pretty quick. Then throw the octave into the mix and destroy everything in sight. Love that thing.

the fuzzfactory has so many settings. it can replace 3 pedals. as for something that is really nasty and damage a speaker, I think of the torn peaker. its named after a torn speaker. but thats more like a distortion.

tis true. I've owned two and made a clone ages ago that I need an enclosure for...they're good fun, but I think the fuzz gun is like a super sonic fuzz factory.
