your sales would go down like the Niagara falls dude...
but if you want to, I could lay down some drum tracks for your songs... I mean I'm always open for new stuff to try and if you need some drumz...

I'm generally not into prog-rock, but I'm really digging this stuff. The latest one especially.
It feels like music for the last boss fight in a game or something (please don't take that the wrong way

)

i take it in an AWESOME way
( want a smiley where we (me and you) are on a swing together

)
i know i might use the genre a bit loosely, but i feel like that

i just make music that's probably most fun and mainly most natural to me

a new track

i'm proud to announce i now possess an ability to mike my amp and also to use more guitars for recording (overdubbing or just using a different flavour for solos and shit) since my roommate happens to own a PRS Custom 24, mic and a nice USB interface
also - holy fuzzy bass, batman!

Dude, your stuff is really good. Out of curiosity, are you opposed to organizing them into sets and allowing downloading? Cause I'd love to be able to listen to this stuff while I'm out driving or somesuch.

Really digging the new song!

! I like the funk-ish influence. It would be soooooo much more awesome with real drums, tho... you know- every time I hear those programmed drums in good songs my heart cries a little...

I really like the way this one shifts from the structured part into the funky jamming...it's a little reminiscent of Gong, Soft Machine, or some of the other Canterbury bands in that way, and that's definitely a compliment. i was expecting a reprise of the theme at the end, though.

not really opposed, just not expecting such interest

i'm honored...
http://soundcloud.com/capekjanek/sets/apis-ante-portashere should be the whole set, allowed for downloading

thanks

hey... you don't even know how happy i'd be having a live band for this music

i know it might be difficult because those layers etc plus noone would care because people suck and it's instrumental... plus noone would want to play with me and be "conquered under my command"... but it's certainly one of my dreams (look at it this way... at least i'm not programming bass anymore

)

whoa, thanks, dubs!

it certainly is a compliment... yeah, a reprise might've been nice, didn't think of it that much because i know that reprises can be dangerous while used badly... what do you do?

i'm still doing stuff on my own at home, no producer, no bandmates to help me and i'm no prodigy

but thanks for your kind words, i appreciate them

for an instrumental, i'd typically just restate the theme (or the most important part/melody if it's a really long composition) once or twice the way a jazz artist plays the theme/"head" at the end of a song, as a way of showing the listener "see, we started here, went off THERE, and now we're coming back to where we started and showing you how the whole thing's related, tying it up in a neat package for you to understand." not that it isn't also good to stretch their melons at points, but it's generally considerate to give the listeners some handles to grab on to if you want them to go on the ride with you...they feel more secure that way, even if the roller coaster is engineered so they can't fall out, you know?
