I've been wanting one of these for a while thanks to Muddy's demos. However Japanese prices and customs are a deadly combo for anyone's finances, especially ones looking to buy a new place. Well the housing market here is thoroughly fucked over which means my place won't be selling any time soon and I need to sell before I can buy. So what better way to cheer oneself up then by getting a long lusted after fuzz pedal?
I emailed Andy, who seems to like renaming his shop, over at
http://www.andybabiuksfabgear.com/ if he'd be willing to ship the pedal across the pond. He was. It's still selling for $265 + plus shipping incase anybody else is interested. Apparently somebody else sold the last one in store on Andy's day off but he had mister Takaki at Katanasound send it to me directly at no extra cost.
After playing around with the pedal both on bass and baritone this thing does not disappoint at all. It works beautifully on a song I've been kicking around a bunch but hadn't found the perfect sound for, well the Super Bass Fuzz with the octave on just nails it. Anytime I play with a pedal and think 'my drummer is going to hate this' it's a keeper.
