I feel the exact same way, never even gave the Cap a look. I do see it on a bunch of boards and hear people raving but I prefer a nice, simple, 3 knob analog delay. If a pedal has too many options and controls, I get lazy, find a setting I like and avoid tweaking. Don't really dig in like a should and I'm sure that would be the case with this one.

Many months ago now, i was suffering from severe indecision as to what delay to get. I tried out untold numbers in various stores and none really stood out above the others until the Empress. Well while I was saving up for the Empress, along came the El Cap for significantly less and I bit. I love the El Cap and have absolutely no plans to get rid of it, but to be honest I think I could get by just fine with any number of the so-called lesser delays that I passed on previously if I was on a budget. For anyone that has no problem dropping three hundred on a tape echo sim I heartily recommend the El Cap, but it's not the be-all-end-all delay pedal that makes everything else obsolete.

I think it could be a good pedal, but I already own a DL-4 and a DM-2, and a bunch of good reverbs. I can't justify another purchaise: we're not talking about fuzzes...

It looks great, but nothing that makes me say "Yes, that's it!"

its a nice delay/echo emulator - But in current band situation, I dont really need delay, so no el cap for me :)

I got one out of curiosity with the thought I'd sell it off if it wasn't anything special. A few months now and I still have it. It still might be overkill for my needs by one thing I'm digging is how you can alter the tone and low end contour. I play ska/dub/reggae with a few friends and with an expression pedal it's perfect for nailing those metallic dub repeats.

I'd like one just so I could sell it to people who jizz their shorts over it. :)

I'm really not that huge of a fan of the tape sim sound. I've never actually played a real tape echo, but if it sounds like the simulators, then I don't care for it.

So I guess I'd much rather have the Brigadier than the El Cap. I LOVE the sound of digital doing analog.

Well I wouldn;t say no if I could get one for free, but it is not really my kind of thing.. I like the sound, but at the moment delay-wise I would go for something analog, if I wanted/needed a delay at the moment.. For what I need at the moment, my boss rv-3 provides me with enough reverb and delay.. But I am mostly a bassist, so that might explain that a bit..

I like mine a lot. Kind of like a better Boss RE-20.

It has slaked my delay thirst, mostly. I do have a DRASP modded DL4 on the way....plan to use that mostly for looping though.
