DS-1 into a Shiva. DS-1 has the gain and tone all the way up, and texture on the Shiva's at, oh, 2 o'clock, with both switches off. Sounds insane.

on the algal bloom thing: righto on the squished. thats exactly why i bought it.

though for the "squished" part, i get a better "squished" sound out of my multifx's fuzz model. but i prefer the AB by far

Love 'dat Barbershop! My Muff clone (Triangle) is coming this week. I'm gonna run that shit together aaaaaalllllll night!

Also: dershoezengazen: What exactly does the Bi-Fet do? And like what does Bi-Fet mean? I guess I could look it up, but I'm at work and have to get back to the word I just said. Yours is the only one I've ever seen, and you seem to swear by it.

WADDUP.

I just switched the order of my muff and od. GOOD GOD IT'S KILLER!!!I'M GOING BE STUCK SWITCHING THEM FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!

Yikes. I used to run my Big Muff into my Rat (which I used for overdrive) because I liked the somewhat compressed tone that occurred. I must have tried it the other way... perhaps I just didn't like it enough to keep. BUUUUUUT I did what you suggested and switched to make it Barbershop OD into my Big Muff Triangle clone... WOW. It took the already lovely Big Muff tone and gave it some extra grind. I'm keeping it this way... the tone is much more special. Thanks for the tip! Love it.

I got some sweet synthy sounds running bass -> DE Aenima -> EQD Hoof that I definitely wasn't expecting.
However, not that I've messed with the knobs on the Hoof I don't remember where they were so I'll have to work on getting that sound back :grumpy:

Arion metal master, with bass. I have it set for "bmuff." Last time I used it with a boost in front, and guitar, I was very pleased as well.

i just got a 3-knob Fuzzhugger Great Wall, which makes the previous chain of fuzzes seem tame with its, erm, wall of roar 'n' squash. with its huge low end, it sounds particularly delightful run into the TC Electronic SCF flanger with the flanger's Speed and Depth set to minimum and the Intensity (i.e. Manual) varied for a metallic frozen sound. you can tune the frequency peak with the Intensity knob sort of like a fixed wah. adding the left side of the Phantom Ring to this makes for all kinds of garbled fun, especially if you throw in some right channel as well.

This one might not be that unexpected, but it just hadn't occurred to me until we were fooling around with our pedals yesterday.

I have a Digidelay and a Dr.Q in the loop of my ChkChkBoom. It had not yet occurred to me that I could feedback the short loop mode of the Delay. That already boosted some frequencies and made the whole thing sound much fatter than it originally was. But then i thought I'd throw in the Autowah and it was just soo nice. It was lovely how the loop slowly evolved into some sonic mess while remaining discernible as what it was. Good times!
