Listened to Believo yesterday all the way through for the first time in a while. Thanks, traffic. But 'Conjugate the Verbs' is such a great tune.

I found my guy through mutual friends.
Ask everyone you know if they know any drummers.
Ask them more than once too. They'll eventually breakdown and tell you someone they know owns a drum set.

Definately worth checking with other bands you play with: You could always put an add up at the local music store but you never know what you will end up with.

We got in a bind once a long time a go in a band I was in and I ended up a calling a kid I knew from gradeschool.
Turned out he was a massive beast on drums.
Only issue was that we had a grungy feel (it was the late 90's let it go) and he was a very industrial drummer (still is: Check out coriolis) For some reason it worked very well, other than the fact that he painted himself to look like the crow.

I remember asking him after a practice how he thought we sounded and he responded "I have no idea, but at least the drums are good"

It may be more important to find someone who can actually play and that you get along with regardless of the style of music.

Agreed. I don't really know how well I fit in the band anyway, so I'm cool with that. Our current drummer often looks at me like I just killed his mother. He's pretty puzzled by my pedal obsession. But Smashing Pumpkins is his favorite band. I don't get it.
