i also think the importance of the MC5 has been exaggerated in retrospect because they fit the preferred after-the-fact narrative of punk, the Greil Marcus/UK press view that "punk" was a priori political, Leftist, and movement-oriented. this, of course, was a fiction constructed by Malcolm McLaren and Guy Stevens, the managers of the Pistols and the Clash, who used the bands to push the Marxist/Situationist agendas they'd been grinding since the summer of '68.

The more I look at that guitar the more I want to take it to a abandoned building and shoot it with a gun...... I think I had a nightmare about it last night and it was alive tried to get me to go fishing or something..........

funny...... i did have a dream about this guitar last night....now i am thinking that i'd like to have one of those ugly bitches.
