Musically brilliant, "creative genius" with instruments and what.
That's what I got out of it?

...oh I was just making, in all courtesy, a countermove towards the slogan boring+soulless, as humoristic as it is. (and in a sense true in cases, since there is, IMHO, a LOT of prog bands - especially in the progressive metal - that are just plain bad

and would be better playing regressive rock)
I think there's a point in what McSpunkle said - it IS horrible AND wonderful even to a fanboy like me

. I think got that. When I was a teenger I was somewhat frightened of the KC Discipline approach to music and there is still something alien in it, to me - but I so love the end result! Far from easy listening, far from cheap sentimentlism, far from kick ass rock 'n roll recognised by the trail of thrashed hotel rooms.

Oddly enough, having met Adrian (once at a show, once I ran into him at the Nashville airport!), this is nothing like his real personality. Extremely vibrant, talkative, friendly, excited guy who appreciates everything about how he got to where he is.
Also, I resent the prog remarks as well. King Crimson is one of my all-time favorite bands. People tend to not look much farther than the first few albums, but THRAK has some of the best songwriting I've ever heard, paired with some of the most skilled musicians in the trade. The title track The ConstruKtion of Light is also one of my absolute favorite pieces.

Kaiser is terrible completely... i just don't like Belew's use of flanger, chorus and non-pleasant sharp sounds
otherwise i absolutely respect his work with KC

they're one of my favourite prog bands
