Well... i know you might think i rushed it... but i don't think it's for me at all

yes, there are awesome posibilities of changing your guitar sound...
yes, the tracking is VERY good
yes, the sounds coming from it are sometimes unbelievable...

but still... my sonical apetite is different...

i'll probably get something else... i'm thinking about trying a ring mod/buying a Whammy... whatever... but the HOG... no, thanks

(yes, i'm a bit disappointed :( but there's nothing wrong with the pedal - just with me)

Sounds like the Ring Thing is something to look for if you want that in 1 pedal..

And the renewed look of ehx.com is ugly

The HOG does have a whammy function, but I think your search is definitely for something else. Hook someone up!

I'm afraid that when I get around to trying a HOG my experience will be similar. :(

The HOG has a quality that sometimes is almost too clean. It's not as "thick" and "raw" as the sound that comes from a Whammy. It's great for the HOG, because if the sounds were too thick on their own, they wouldn't layer well at all, and that intense harmonic/octave layering is what makes the HOG what it is. If that's not what you're looking for, then you really shouldn't even be looking at a HOG.

IMO, YMMV, Fuck off.

But, yeah, I could see how someone couldn't dig the HOG. Give it a bit more time, though. The ambient capabilities are intense, and OMG do they sound good when you follow them with some distortion.

That said, I ended up selling mine, and I never really think "Wow, I wish I still had that pedal!" But I wouldn't mind having another one.

You know mcspunckle... it'd be a great deal, but it's still too much money to buy it if i don't totally love it, can you dig it?

i'm upgrading my wah instead... and probably getting a Holy Grail :) and i don't think i'll regret it

(and a Whammy may be bought eventually... )
