Didn't know they made some custom shit for Russian Circles, Torche, The Ocean, and Alexisonfire, among others... :wha?:

The mastadon guitar is obviously mosrite inspired. I wonder if there is a story about why he chose that design.

Ok..seriously, folks..Am I the only person here who *doesn't* listen to Boris religiously? :poke:
I mean...I know who they are, but I've never actually heard their music..My most insightful comment if I were to enter a discussion about Boris would probably be.
"Uh...the girl in the band is kinda hot?" :idk:

You need to be educated in the greatness of Boris. They have the sound...they have the attitude(really chill and "cool"...they use awesome gear....great artwork.....concepts galore....record collectors dream....cool colaborations....Wata is hot......Spirit doubleneck!!!!....they are the band that all of us American bands wish they could be...which seems a little backwards in most cases. Japanese culture apes the shit out of American culture and takes it to the extreme. Boris totally flip that vibe around. I love them for it.

the First Act-built Volkswagen-branded guitars that were sold with the special-edition VWs a few years back used to pass through the buy/sell shops around here for $100-200, and are surprisingly decent guitars with useable onboard active effects. if i had piles of fuck-you money lying around i'd buy a couple just to do weird drone-tuning stuff.

From what i was told when i got to play it they had one like it sitting around and he liked the shape. I did aswell...its like a mosrite but just slightly more offset.

Debbie Googe was playing Thunderbird-looking First Act Delgada basses for the MBV reunion shows and just kicking all sorts of ass with them. They took their sound very seriously for those shows, making a large investment in their stage equipment, so I wouldn't sneeze at those. She used nothing else when I saw them.

Erm, no, you're not.
While I do have one album and seen them live once the most insightful comment would still be "The girl, uh, is kinda hot, isn't she?"

It's pretty easy. I got the Torche/Boris split recently, and my first thought was "Hey, cool, a new Torche song!".
