What I would do is keep the guitar (I avoid hassle like the plague), but see if I could get something in compensation out of the seller. If they are a real "power" seller and not just some dude selling a single guitar, I'd see if I could get maybe some hardware (better tuners, new pickups, etc) or maybe even several sets of strings, or something like that. They'll be much more likely to go for that than a partial cash refund.

Well he's offered to sell me a new one sans shipping costs if I manage to sell the guitar, and if I don't then I'll be compensated with a small sum. Worked out well I guess! Thanks for all the advice!

Wish I had the extra scratch to do this. Might end up with 2 Sheratons though if it's hard to move. Might not be a bad thing though
