I use them independantly. With Record, I can do a great deal of what I used to do in Ableton. Also all the instruments in ableton are a fucking nightmare to work with. Record's are incredible, expansive, and never buggy.

I just program drums in Reason. Redrum is my friend. No groovy interface for it, but I keep it simple.

I've been getting some killer killer killer stuff lately using a Roland TR-707 into a TSP TeaspoonCAS. You can use the rimshot on the 707 to trigger the CAS which allows you to basically pick where in the beat you want to scramble it. Then with the fidelity, sample length and feedback settings on the CAS you can adjust how much and for how long you want to wreck the drums. It has been bringing lots of smiles to the jams of late. Toss a little reverb and some delay on that shit and call it a wrap!

He's not selling stuff at the moment, but he's working on a EURO version of the Teaspoon for modular folks. He's hoping to also cook up another standalone Teaspoon later on too I think. I'm a big big big fan of all of his stuff.

Old drum machines + pedals. Gets that sound in an analog fashion and hey, another excuse to buy pedals.

Gonna try to get some turntables hooked up. I try to do as much stuff via samples as possible, and sampling from vinyl's a whole lotta fun.
