WHAT?!? Kayzer fearing an effect? THIS CANNOT BE!!!!!!!!
Besides, you've already played with the Snazzy stuff - I would have thought you'd have a PLL or two by now.

I'm sure it reads in very small print Steals Your wallet plus You loose Your soul - absolutely NO returns, NO refunds. And without soul and money, You're stuck with Your career and You end up using it with setting somewhat similar to a stock 808ish, playing evergreen rock classics to mentally handicapped wanted-to-bes rocker suits in a a spa lounge bar & nightclub with a semi-decent cover band for the rest of Your miserable life....
...and when You FINALLY die... well, without a soul, You'll rise from Your grave as a restless spirit haunting the living for inhumane wrongs You have been put through in Your life. And guess what will You do in Your undead life? Yep, exactly the same as ever.

With Your undead band mates and Your eternally undead Klon centaur.

A good chorus does way more than 80's and the riff from come as you are...and a lot of it has to do with the user.
It's sorta like if someone came in here saying "I hate fuzz! They all sound like garbage. I had one on my zoom505 and it sounded yucky"

haha, all good responses. I for one am not a big chorus fan. I've heard it used incredibly, i just couldn't find an application for it.
Ring mods are sweet, I generally use my octafuzz to give me a ring modish sound.

Funny thing, CHORUS used to be for a long time the only thing I used with distortions, ever, but I guess I've just got that much 80's heavy metal in my circulation...
Nowadays my old chorus has found a mainstay from the feedback loop

and I feel I need to buy another

Add another guy to the list of those who love Ring Modulation!
I fear nothing except success and MagicLawnChair.
Don't fuck with the carrot.

Not afraid, but I have a BOSS PS5 which has one useful setting for part of one song.
I would like the warble if I could switch it on as a full time effect thought.
I also have a BP-200 with whammy, I can’t find any useful settings on that yet.
It does sound good with headphones, too bad it sounds so bad when plugged into an amp.
So pitch shifting isn’t really my thing I guess.

I'm afraid of/puzzled by compressors.
I've bought and built half a dozen, and yet I always get rid of them. When set to subtle, I can't tell it's on. When set to squeeze, I'm like, "What the fuck happened to my dynamics??!?!?!"
It also annoys me that most compressors squeeze like hell and then "give up", which gives a weird volume swell. I suppose I should try to use this as an effect, but I can't figure out how.
I suppose my style of play does not lend itself well to compression?
Besides chicken-pickin' country, what can I use compression for? (< that's a serious question...I'd really like to know).
========
As for phasers, flangers, chours....I love all three, but almost exclusively when set to medium-high depth and very slow speed. And I usually don't use them with dirt.

Serious answer: If you ever want to try picking up different stuff with your guitar, pieces of scrap metal, bowed f.ex., a compressor will come in mighty handy, cause if set to extreme, it will actually pick up that sound and make it usable. I love my compressor. But since I've started using dynamic sensitive fuzz I don't use it anymore. Damn!
I'm afraid of the Ekdahl Moisturizer I ordered. I am afraid it's not worth all that money.
I'm also afraid of unforeseen interaction. I use to turn the knobs a lot and sometimes things go into screeching madness when I turn on some other effect. Or volume loss.

I don't get the use of compression too except for one thing, to put it in front of my bass micro synthesizer it seems to trigger better

I only ever use a compressor to get that squishy, saturated sound that Trey Anastasio (Phish) is known for.
