Re: Help Pick my amp...
I think I'm going to go try it out tomorrow, its in Dayton though so a bit of a drive.
I've heard a lot about them being cheaply made, have you had any experience with em?
He claims that during its time at vintage amp repair they rebuilt the tremolo and replaced the caps among other things. Definitely a positive but is there anything else I should look for? I'm just worried that it could be something that, even with just household playing, could shit out quickly and need more repair.
I've never owned a fender, and my valveking, in my opinion, has excellent cleans. The fender clean is obviously different and I know for sure that I like the fenders I have played. Does anyone know if the reissue 4x10 blues deville is much different in sound? I can't find any quality demos of the 2x12 on the clean channel without blues wanking for 10 minutes.
If its not then I may check to see if GC has any to test out.
Anyone with or without experience feel free to chime in.

The reverb tx is not a big problem, nor is the tank.

I suppose it depends on your definition of "clean". Alls I knows is that I had to rehearse using one and I couldn't get it to stay very clean and play over a drummer and a basser.
It wasn't full on distortion, but I certainly wouldn't classify it as clean either. Maybe it was just a particularly shitty one.
Or perhaps a conspiracy.......!

Re: Help Pick my amp...
So I tried one out, turns out my friends uncle owns one.
Sadly, I was disappointed. Maybe it was just his, maybe the cap changes would have made a big difference. Either way I didn't like it enough.
Looks like I'll be going with the fender, which isn't a bad thing to me...I'm actually looking forward to it, but It definitely would have been nice to find a gem that I actually liked. Oh well.

It's all up to the bass player and drummer as well as your guitar. My sovtek mig 50 couldn't keep up on my low channel even when it was cranked when my ex bassist decided to be a dick and get in on my mids.
good lawd theres something going on here
must be the change in records being mixed
