One time I listened to Loveless with my now ex girlfriend (:p) and she thought we were listening to Gish. She said she knew all the songs yet she'd never listened to MBV.

wow, all it took was one youtube video to throw all Billy Corgan credibility out the freaking window for me..... still, Siamese Dream is a classic album to me.... i'll just ignore whatever the fuck he decided to do after Melancholy.....

I have done that since James Iha left. I think they were lovers.

"Life's a bummer
When you're a hummer
Life's a drag"

Although he doesn't sing it, it does leave the resolution of the chorus to be - When you're a ___.

Think about it.

as much as I love that album, on first listen my reactions varied between "oh THAT song", "haha, 90's..." and "so thats where everyone gets it"

so its kinda stuck in the public musical unconciousness. like spanish flea, or ma nah ma nah :joy:

i would respect him more if he was like
"yeah i fucked tila tequlia and jessica simpson, it was pretty cool when my balls slapped against their ass."
instead he's a big fucking pussy
but siamese dream totally owns
and props on sound engineering him.

veteransdaypoppy wrote:i think people hate billy corgan because he totally sold out by writing half-assed tunes with not-the-smashing-pumpkins. he also hangs out with tila tequila and jessica simpson, when neither of them the talented or artsy type. i'm pretty sure he's just an ethereal floating ego whistling thoughtless melodies and just stringing chords together, laughing all the way to the bank.
i guess i kind of thought i saw something i could relate to artistically in him and then one day realized that he's just a fake.
gish ruled, though.

I don't think he was a fake, I think he got lost along the way. For Martha is not fake. Tear Garden feels fake.

That's my two cents.

He's naming the album "Tear Garden by Kaleidoscope." Not "The Tear Garden."

I don't think people will get them confused.
