I haven't had any issues with clipping. And I hit mine with some devastating fuzz from time to time. Sounds synthy and wonderful

with it's new placement before boost...i'm loving it more and more every day!

Touche - I don't think I've ever had my boost and Cosmichorus on at the same time.

On the weekend I tried to dial in a Cosmichorus with 12VDC and I actually couldn't get a cleaner signal than with 9VDC... I didn't think of it, but the compander section would need re-biasing too, not just the delay line. *smacks forehead* So I'm afraid for this version of the CC, 9VDC is it's only option. Next year when we change up the CC production and do the ultimate version of it I'll definitely design in higher power handling ability. Sorry it's not capable of it now, gents, but I will keep it in mind for the future.

Here's the thing with boosts and overdrives and fuzzes... it just depends on the level of that pedal. Say it's a fuzz/distortion/overdrive and you have it dialed in to be the same volume level as your bypassed tone, not set up for a huge volume increase, then that will be fine in front of your CC.

But a boost, that's another story since they're usually used differently to raise the signal level a lot.. a clean boost pedal can goose up the signal by 20dB, a huge increase over the dry level, and that's just not going to fly with the CC or a ton of other pedals, it'll clip for sure. I think, in general, a pedal that is going to be used to increase the signal level a lot should go at the end of the chain. If the signal level will remain the same then chorus before or after dirt is fine and just a personal preference kinda thing. I just think there's an important difference between boosts and distortion/fuzz/overdrive because of how those pedals get used in terms of volume increase.

Haha, well, over the next year I'd like to switch our current pedals over to manufactured pcbs and powder coated boxes. Since we have to do that process in a bit of a quantity it's a perfect opportunity to make perfect versions of the pedals, like the RRRv2 and the ultimate Tremolessence, I want to make the ultimate (and final) versions of the Cosmichorus, SDD, and Frazz. Then I want to get cracking on new stuff!

For the CC though, the ultimate version will have expression control, the 'hold' feature, higher voltage capability, maybe some different waveforms for the LFO, maybe a stereo out. (I don't think I'd do true stereo with it as two separate audio paths would be a huge complicated circuit.) When the time comes you can count on a discussion about it! *smile*

The ultimate CC sounds interesting. Does the expression control mean it will have CV? I'd love to integrate it more with my modular synths!

The way I've been setting up the mix/depth/rate controls for these new pedals like the Tremolessence and the RRRv2 and the future Cosmichorus is a way that I think will work great with CV. I like that idea lot, I think that's a great way to do expression controls as it just opens up a lot of options for manipulating the effects.

I don't plan on changing the circuit very much, I like how it works now and the sounds it can make.. I just want to dress it up with the ultimate features like hold and the switching and expression control, make it all that it can be kinda thing. I'm pretty satisfied with the CC though, it'll still be the same pedal at the core.
