what happens when you "virtually" push the reverse button up and down really fast? how about hundreds or thousands of times a second? this.

Well I have to say that is fucking awesome

what song is this?

aphex twin - flim
if I remember correctly

I'm trying to hurry up in finishing this. unfortunatelly it looks like there will be no overdub (really really problematic) and thus it won't be so much a delay as it will be a looper. even recording loops that are less lengthy than the thing's max loop time is proving to be complicated. but at least that's a hurdle I know I'll overcome.

Goodie!

Tabletop oriented I guess?

How much more/less difficult is this to build than the Hollow Earth?

Yeah, tabletop, or floor or whatever. It was never meant to be a record-and-forget type of looper so I didn't see the point in adding stompswitchs. It only truly shines when you're twiddling knobs, so...

Difficulty? ehhhhhh about the same, build-wise. There isn't the friggen 7-seg display but there is a second mini-board (not pictured) for the 16 leds in the middle. And there's over twice the number of parts, so a lot more will go wrong. The programming was much much more difficult for this, too. I started planning/researching for this almost a year ago, and started the actual hardware and software work about 2.5 months ago. Started over once. I'm so fucking glad it works now.

It's like a mini computer. For real. It has a CPU. The two small chips top-right are RAM. Etc..

it still has small glitches and weird design limitations/decisions. Like you don't record a loop shorter than the max available 5 seconds. you record a small clip by setting the trim start and end pots, or you don't trim and record the full 5 seconds. It's kind of archaic. For my own use I won't have problems with it, but for others who need to time a loop length totally in time with something else...... almost impossible. Guess it works better for droners/ambience.

The 16 leds in the middle sort of light up where the "playback head" is at any given moment in the sample. Useful when you're trimming.
