I got a sweet-looking frazz in a trade last week and I've been trying to figure out how to use it ever since. The sizzle knob is an almost tone knob that kinda jumps everywhere and sounds really dark unless you're at 3 o'clock or higher. The mix knob almost has to be maxed otherwise even with volume cranked the pedal is quieter than unity volume. The gain is sort of funky as well. I might just have to trade it. Any tips? :idk:

Crank the sizzle.
Keep the mix about about 3:00.
Set the volume to unity.
Set the gain and filter to taste.
Try the gain just about maxed with the gate on. The pedal should WANT to feedback and gate can barely stop it at this point.
Is fun!
Also try the gain at about 11:00 with the gate off. You'd be surprised that is does much more than just teh br00tlz well.

Or at least with my set up. :animal:

Hey mynar, well let's see here... first off, very cool you got the Pedals for Peace Frazz, that's a special one for sure. The proceeds of that pedal went to the Human Rights Council to fight oppression.

So the mix control, it's a clean blend.. it's exactly unity gain when it's set all the way dry. The volume is for the fuzz output only and it goes really loud, if your amp has the headroom for it. The sizzle knob is definitely a tone knob that jumps everywhere although I don't find it overly dark except when all the way down, just filtered differently through the sweep.

Awhile ago Blurrilaz had a Frazz that was sort of like how you describe, quiet and dark, and it turned out he had a component inside the box that was shorting against the case and neutering the tone.. I wonder if that could be your case too. I'll have a look at it if you like, send me an email, ryan@drscientist.ca, if you want to arrange that.

This is a good demo. I like how kayzer is touching on the vicious side of the frazz....which is how this pedal wants to sound. i swear this thing can scream hate like a baby in a microwave.

I mean, the pedal works fine and all, but with the sizzle all the way left it sounds like my amp is in a cement box. And yeah it only gets loud if I dime the mix and the volume. Otherwise it sounds muffled. So it might be shorting out? :?:

Ok, so we came to the conclusion that Mynar's pedal is working properly and that he uh, probably doesn't like it very much. (Thanks for trying it out though!)

Spaceman, *e-highfive*, thank you for liking it! I guess it's just one of those things where it helps to be the kind of person that might microwave a baby. :idk:

:idk: It's just too dark for me. There were some settings I liked, but they were lower gain with sizzle dimed which is not at all what I think you were shooting for. I traded it for a TAFM, even though I think that's a bass fuzz.
