I just made several cables from bulk Mogami and Canare cable and various brands of connectors. Redco is the cheapest place I can find:
http://www.redco.com/These right-angle Neutrick connectors are only a $1 and are pretty nice:
http://www.redco.com/shopexd.asp?id=1312The Mogami cable is 70 cents per foot, and Canare is 80 cents per foot. So you can do a 10-foot cable for $10 or less if you go with the $1 connectors I linked above. The "mini" cables are even cheaper (about 40 cents per foot) and are perfect for making patch cables.
There's no need to pay big bucks for cables.

Blue cables, just like blue LEDS, have the best TOANZ.

Hosa, high prices?
$3 patch cable, 6 for $13?
hows that high?

Maybe the ones you buy are cheap all of teh ones i have seen are pretty expensive, teh ones you are refrencing are multicolored/cheap teh ones I am talking about are black/expensive
Of course they are nothing compared to teh custom patch cables at Shroeder (a ampr repair/custom anythign shop near me) they are $35 for a six inch cable! They charge for their "time."

Well as long as we can all get what we want for what we want then it's all good.

yeah dude, I use black cheap ones too, the only issue I've ever had was due to my pedals jack being iffy
the cables are pretty great actually :/

My guitar player friend is having me make all new Canare cables to replace his George L’s.
He says the George Ls are nice, but get buggered if you swap pedals around alot.

i use various patch cords on the pedal board, but am insistent on metal plugs after bad experiences over the years with noise/shorting/deterioration of plastic plugs and adaptors. right now most of the cords are 6" Hosas with flat-back right-angle metal plugs, which take up less room when packing pedals together on the board than anything else i can afford. i also have a number of cables of various makes with right-angled Neutrik plugs (and a couple with straight plugs) in lengths from six inches to three feet for gaps which the six-inch Hosas can't span. i would use the Lava kits to save space if i could afford to, but it'd probably be impractical since i apparently change my board layout more often than i do my laundry.

Jero wrote:^See, that's the way I usually go. I just spend like $10/6pack of warwick cables when I need, and they are great. Just as low profile as the lava or gls from what I can tell...still wouldn't mind having some lavas though.
warwick rock cables! i use. and they are colory fun.
