Right dudes, just checking... no batteries! *smile* I plan on adding expression control and/or maybe a loop and I think those features are just plain cooler than a battery.

Eric! wrote:Batteries suck: http://www.beavisaudio.com/Projects/badBattery.htm

Clean blend ftw! Or more clipping options!!

I think clean blend is a gooder too, I like that one. And a good haul of clipping options will be there too, that's important I think.

That Beavis page is awesome, Dano is such a cool dude!

Regarding the Woofz, there's still some stores here and there that have Woofer Wailers in stock (Music Toyz, Analogue Haven) but we won't be making any more of them, we consider those suckers long retired now. Actually there will be 10 more, later this year but I don't know when... one of our stores feels extra warmly about that pedal and we've agreed to making them the absolutely final last 10 of them ever in the world. I'm just not sure when we'll be doing it!

Yessir, I like this idea a lot too... we're thinking of doing a design contest for the next round of miniberator boxes too. We'll be getting another 4 batches of different minis starting in September or October and we think it would be really cool if one of the 4 was designed by somebody from around here.

I don't even know what it is, but if it carries the Dr. Scientist name I expect nothing but pure awesome sauce

Ryan wrote:The Elements will be op amp based, similar platform to the Cleanness with active 3 band active eq, gain, volume, a clipping option or two, and a post/pre eq switch... I think it'll probably end up being more med/high gain too, I don't really have much of a passion for low gain stuff.

I wish I had some more crazy tricks planned for the Elements but, well, that's about all I've got! I imagine when I get working on it a new idea or two will pop up.... you got any cool ideas? Think we should add expression control to this sucker? Clean blend? I want to keep it in the same small box as the Cleanness so I'll be limited to about 6 knobs and a couple toggles... less if it has a battery in it... I guess that's another area for debate... can I leave the battery out of it?

Hi,
thank you so very much for this post, Ryan! As previously announced via email, I consider myself being on the wait list :yay:
Great news you plan The Elements to be more of a high-gain pedal, there's already too much low-gain stuff out there...

One feature I love on OD pedals is a "Starve" control to reduce the voltage the IC is supplied with - there's so many different OD characters you can dial in this way. Full 9V for a biting british sound, then reduce voltage for the brown sound and reduce it further to get some american high-gain sizzle.

But this is just a humble suggestion, I would be happy with the feature set you mentioned - especially the pre/post eq switch which strikes me as pretty useful...

Thanks for reading,
Philip

I am now unofficially on the unofficial "The Elements" waiting list.

I have commitment issues.

But, it is officially the kind of thing that I would be interested in.

Also, designing things take a long time and makes your hand hurt for two days!
