From what I've heard, it does the gated swell effect but minimal octave. But i tried with the tranny amputed from one leg (i managed the leg to keep touching the tranny) so it was not really convincing. Also it was a 2n5087 so maybe it makes it sound different from a 2n3906. I'll get some other PNP transistor today so I'll have a better chance to have the sound i supposed to get.

Got this last night and it is GREAT! Nice work culturejam. Goes from searing acid octave up to like a nice wooly octave blanket, and then I can add teeth and splatter with the gain/volume control. Paired with some saturated power tubes in my amp head it was verrrrrry difficult to stop playing and go to bed last night.

Recommended! :thumb:

The original version I did had an inductor in the tone section, and had three knobs. Schematic is attached. I did a layout for it, but I haven't prepared the final artwork for the PCB since I switched to the inductor-less version.

Cool. So that'd give you like another tone control or something? Like a mid-scoop?

It makes the tone and octave more variable. With the above setup, you can almost totally dial out the octave and have a straight-ahead angry fuzz.

Me too. Now that kosta has my proto, I need to make another one.

Just wanted to chime in here..

I just got Kosta's build in a trade and want to say that this fuzz is amazing.
I put it up there with the tone machine clone I have. SO much fun to play. :trippy:

Sweet!

I wish somebody who already has a pedal business would start making these. :poke:

I should. Maybe after the two pedals I'm rehousing (DOD Phasor 201 and Dano Tuna Melt trem) and three that I'm building after that (four knob Rat, Ross compressor, and Folk Driver) haha.
