As im looking at the schematic, im wondering....is C2 an electrolytic? Also, i'm going to increase C1 to make it better for my bass.
I'm also building the "devolt" (from Beavis Audio) from scratch....i had parts and he posted the schematic!

If C2 ist the 10uF cap then yes, it's an electrolytic cap.
I'd also add another 10uF(ish) cap before the output to work as a coupling cap. (+power filtering, 220uF cap from +9V to GND should do it).
