Yeah man! Love this one. If you use the directional arrows to move the cursor into the time display in the main window you can use the jog wheel to scroll the time while it's playing! Juggle that shit!

oh wow that is a new one to me, not the same as the one i was explaining. i'll havta remember to try that out next time!! wooooooo!!

i definitely want an MPC 2000XL or a Roland MV-8000. i like the ASR but those things--the keyboards not the desktop--are mega-expensive.

Yeah, even the ASR-X (desktop) lists for crazy money on eBay. I got lucky and found one for $200 that needs work. I love the ASR's sound - everything you put in comes out sounding 10% more awesome - but the MPC pads and sequencer are far better.

Oh man, MPCs are fucking awesome. There was one on craigslist around here, though I don't have the funds to get it. I've wanted to get one just to make beats. It seems so seamless and easy to use, plus it would work awesome with my friend's TR606, TR808, and Future Retro Revolution.

You wouldn't happen to be thinking of Animal Collective, would you? They use a lot of 404...

seems like all my favorite producers--Jake One, the Alchemist, Medium Zach from Big Quarters et cetera--are str8 surgical with an ASR; generally, i love Ensoniq stuff personally. but i just ain't got ASR money right now--

on a slightly related note: has anyone used the Beatscape feature in Sonar 8.5. (or Cubase/Groove Agent One.) or used an MPC-styled VST. or just hooked up a drum pad midi controller to their DAW to trigger samples or whatever (i think that is what Flying Lotus does w/ an M-Audio drum pad midi controller and Ableton...) or hell even slaved DAW to an MPC. i mean anyone of those things: i know it doesn't substitute for the functionality of an MPC, but what are the merits/disadvantages...

have you ever actually seen like an xx video on youtube or something. its kind of hard not to miss that big-ass Prominent MPC in the foreground. & no drummer...

hate i missed seeing them when they recently toured this spring. show was sold out here. & i'm too broke & suspended licensed to drive to Birmingham.

Birmingham as in Alabama?
My sister went to that show. 18+ screwed my chances of going. I heard it was really good though :thumb: Bottletree is a cool venue

I was under the impression because of a video I saw. I have no idea which. I was probably just mistaken. I don't feel like looking through videos of the xx.
