And everyone plays with their pedal boards in front of them or you might as well get a white van with tinted windows and stock up on candy. Because we know what you are. So you have an amp behind you, your board in front of you.......why the faaaaaaaaaaaaaak would you shoot your instrument cord PAST your board and double it around to come back at your top mounted jack? That's like a waste of 6 inches to a foot. PLUS it puts weird strain on your cable.
So the answer is clearly bottom mounted jacks.

My one top mounted jack pedal is such a pain in the ass to hook up though. I have to squish the cable so that all three (power and the input/output) will actually fit in conjunction with my other pedals on the board. I've had to re-solder my cables a few times cause they're kinked in a funny way and come loose. So color me pink and call me Lester the Molester, but fuck top mounted jacks.

I don't particularly mind top mounted jacks as long as they're spaced wide enough to fit my pancake plugs. But I fucking hate it when they squeeze a fuckload of jacks insanely close together on one side of a pedal. It makes it a completed pain in the ass for me to wire shit on my pedalboard.

I will admit that top jacks on a Mini or similar single-row setup are better, and it does look neater to have your pedals side-by-side (yes, I care about how it looks...I'm shallow that way).

I always have an expression pedal hooked up to the Xerograph, so it's not easy to use as an envelope filter, therefore most of the deluxe functionality is lost on me. Dem sweeps are so awesome though...I've certainly missed them in my life.
