Ceiling mount!!!! That angled ceiling wall above the amps would be perfect to aim it at your ear holes!

What's the best way to record a very loud practice? Our practice space is pretty small, probably 12x10 (wild guess there). I've tried using my galaxy s3 but it just doesn't cut it. Honestly it sounds like total shit. My drummer has a zoom h2n but while it sounds a little better still not that great and doesn't pick up his kick drum. I don't know how much he's messed with the gain on the Mic though, and I haven't fuct with it yet. There's not much room for a "optimal" placement.
I need something to listen to between practice days.

Trying out for an established band (on bass) for the first time in a while. It's a little intimidating but as long as I keep listening to their music until it all sinks in, I should have no problem, as long as they're cool people and aren't just looking for a guy with a "look." I haven't met them yet but their music is really good and it's well within my abilities.
