a bandmate gave this album to me on my 15th birthday
i didn't know much about "real" jazz - but i knew as a bass player i was supposed to dig Ron
but, really, i remember that as the day i fell in love with Buster Williams
and because i will always have the tendency to over-hype the first two sides, here's the Monk instead
