AxAxSxS wrote:has anyone here reconed speakers? It looks like it wouldn't be too hard, and WAY cheaper than replacing them. Tony found a place locally that does it and we're bringing them some business tomorrow. I'll report back on how it works out, just wondering if anyone is familiar with the process.

I haven't personally reconed them but while reading up on EVM 12l speakers over on thegearpage a user mentioned reconing them with a tissue paper and glue mixture that worked so I think you're right, it shouldn't be too hard.

holy shit! I gotta git me sum learnin. I looked into it a tiny bit and apparently the only precision part is getting everything centered. More to it than that I'm sure, but its gotta be fairly simple, not that many parts involved.

Hmmmm, Avi... rings a bell but nothing solid. Manager of the spot in February? Well we have two gigs one Sunday the 10th at Rock N' Roll Hotel and one Friday the 22nd at the Strathmore Mansion. They said in the ad they knew people from the DC club scene so he probably knows the manager at RnR. I kinda wish I had more free time as I would have hit those guys up in a heartbeat, but with 2 kids and 1 on the way time is tight even with one band.

Yeah it is RnR I'm going to try to make it. Which show would you suggest? I haven't been to either joint.

Went and saw Whores. last night. Great show - literally vibrated the entire building. Well, Reggie's is more of a shed, but you get the point. Either way I'm super glad I brought along earplugs because I can actually hear today. The new songs sound awesome and huge and heavy, I'm definitely looking forward to the new album. Christian's small board still has ALL THE TOANZ - green Russians are better than other muffs, and I want a Mastotron. These are the things I learned.

Dixie Dave himself was in attendance. He got full on wasted and decided to do some spontaneous guest vocals. It was pretty much the best thing ever.

I would highly suggest our Strathmore Mansion show. The RnR show will be us with no string section, and no frills. We're headlinging on a Sunday night as a favor to one of the organizers whose a friend of the band. It'll be a short simple and to the point set, while Strathmore is going to be OUR show. We're doing all the organizing and everything. It will be our full 7 person band and our set will probably be around twice as long. RnR is the local 100 people or less club of choice, after it the next best club is Black Cat which is up to 800 capacity, and then 9:30 club which is like 12-1400 capacity. It's a good little venue, but thats just it, its little.
