Well kinda. I've wanted to build a more classic stoner doom sounding setup I.e; sleep, bongzillla, etc. combined with some more vintage done moderni.e; windhand, cough, etc. as well as downsizing since I'm not playing out right now and have some other purchases I wanted to make. So I bought the Matamp so I could sell my emperors to pay down some debt and get a couple things for the rig: a set of avedissian or BKP warpigs, a TB w/ led modded crybaby or snarling dogs black bawls, and a volt thrower from nick.

Yeah man, I see your rigs and skips and I

I wouldn't give up my sunn/simms/ward setup for anything I don't think though.

Skip man, you should really play with some folded horn rigs. I still can't believe I got that GK 4412H for $100. that thing remains the cornerstone of my sound. Very unique and fucking so sludegy. Adding in the 18 with the ACC folded enclosure is overkill really but it sounds great.

And seriously. If ANY of you manage to find one. BUY IT!!!!

looks like this but mine has the felty covering.

Damn man…thats some major vibrations!

I would love to turn up my amps at home to a level where i would get even a shimmer in a glass of water, but no such luck!

Skip…on the cab thing…i'm gonna make it worse for you…the clean i thought sounded nicer through the matamp, but the distorted sounded better through the Emperor.

John, I'll definitely keep my eye out! Unfortunately I don't really have room for something that large though... :mope:

In the video I would have to agree, I guess I'm gonna have to properly record them if possible because the low end just isn't there like it is in reality. Plus distortion tones are easily changed

hahahaha nah just two :thumb:

Thanks bud! Exactly! There's one shop around here that has them from time to time but he prices em at like 1000-1100$, FUCK THAT! I paid a lil more than half that for this one, minus some trade ins.

that is a really good deal…even in the UK you would struggle to get them that cheap. I almost bought a 1x12 Matamp a few weeks ago for about £200 (about $300).

To be honest, and this might be blasphemy…i struggle to justify the massive price differential in cabs. I'll admit, i only play at loud volumes at rehearsals (when i had a band) and that was a 4x12 orange, but besides that i play at him on low volume, so maybe the difference is more inherently equated to high volumes.

You bought a Matamp? I thought you were buying an Orange?

anyway, this:
more classic stoner doom sounding setup I.e; sleep, bongzillla, etc. combined with some more vintage done moderni.e; windhand, cough, etc.
reads very this:

"A slight hint of Sleep with a sprinkling of Bongzilla and a robust aftertaste of Cough."

Love ya buddy hope yer amp is rad.

AASS:

Hit it. You can resell it for a profit if it's not your bag, but it will be your bag.

GADZAN:

Easily breakable rule of thumb: Never pay more than 500 for a cab. Any cab.

well thats my point exactly…my current 2x12 i bought for £100, which is basically the cost of the speakers (practically new Eminence) and it sounds as good as an Orange 2x12 i use to have which cost 3 times the price, a Zilla cab which cost more than double the price.
