erm, didn't everybody's ancestors come from Africa?

so i dyed my hair yesterday. i was going for maroon, but since i'm pretty gray it came out as a sort of sparkling-rose color; i did a second coat and got a pretty good reddish-purple. i'm quite happy...it adds visual interest, and makes me feel and look about 15 years younger. i've been threatening to do this since the OG punk era, and i'm really glad i did.

gonna have to wait until i'm done with work...i left my phone at home. i have been *such* an airhead lately...the other day i left my wallet in somebody's car and had to ring their celly and have them bring it back, and it's not unusual for me to walk out of the apartment in the morning without e.g. my jacket, wallet, travel ashtray, or the CDs i meant to listen to in the car.

the interesting thing is that i've gotten several compliments from my male coworkers, and it seems that the more heteronormative they are the better they appear to like it. i'm still trying to get my head wrapped around that.

On a tangential note, I had a girl in my class last semester whose hair was red, yellow, green, and blue. Her festive demeanor made the whole semester a little more fun, I always felt happy knowing she would be there because it just seemed so cheerful.
