Glad you finally got to use those beasts!!! I had a new cab day today as well!!!!! Seller said it had a loose baffle, which it doesnt.... it has blown speakers

Which is all good as I planned on replacing them anyways with some different Emi's.... Their still usable for the moment, just have to keep alot of the low end out of the preamp.
Oh and I traded my earcandy 2x12 to our guitar player for the Ampeg B2-Re

Well its an easy fix, just not cheap

I'm gonna go with Emi Delta PRO-15a's they are the 15" version of the speakers I had in the 2x12 i traded for for this 2x15. They worked great for both guitar and bass before so I figure I mighta s well stick with what I know works. Only downside is its like 270$ for a pair of new ones. I guess its a good thing I didn't pick up that acoustic 8x10 this weekend as well. Thanks on the Ampeg, at the moment I'm just using it as a power amp and it works alot better then the 300w peavey power amp i was using. Twas a good sunday for the DR!

So, sorta thinking about getting a new amp. Depending on $$ might have to sell the v4 for it. I LOVE the v4, but I've had reliability issues with it, it's heavy as fuck, and a retube on it costs way too goddamn much. Ugh, I really don't want to get rid of it though.
Sigh. first world problems. If I replace it, I'm thinking about hunting down a Bassman 135. Missed out on one for 390, but just don't have that kind of extra scratch sitting around. I guess I could sell off some pedals, too.

Is it worth getting the minty 1990 Gibson Explorer even though I would be running thin on cash afterward? I'm not really sure, I would like the guitar for E standard/C standard madness but I dunno what I should do.
edit: forgot to mention that it's for 550

mahogany or korina? either way, a Gibson Explorer in good condition for $550 is cheap.

mahogany. Yeah it's mega cheap and I've been looking at it for a while. Thinking I might just do it. I just realized you are from Illinois. SO NEVER MIND, I NEVER SAID ANYTHING. IS IT MINEEEEEEE

has anyone here reconed speakers? It looks like it wouldn't be too hard, and WAY cheaper than replacing them. Tony found a place locally that does it and we're bringing them some business tomorrow. I'll report back on how it works out, just wondering if anyone is familiar with the process.
