Got my Jazz Bass back from my mom's house last week, ordered parts to redo it this weekend-

Got a new black single ply pickguard, new black control plate, and Lace Aluma-J pickup. It TOTALLY rips, so hard. I love it!

YESSSSSS. I covered it up with electrical tape after the picture was taken so now it's even more flat black!

I love the enclosure lid:
Real simple basses are the best.

Thanks dude! I've been kind of debating whether or not to put the old bridge pickup in with a blend and tone knob, just not quite sure since this seems to be serving me pretty well at the moment

Holy fuck does that look cool. I don't even really like Jazz Basses, but I would play that religiously. Don't put the bridge pickup back in; the chrome cover looks perfect.

I always felt the bridge pickup was 80% of the J tone. for better or worse.

I had nothing to do, so why not fix up Ol' Fugly?
Defretted that jawn, filled it in, tried to get a nice and smoove epoxy coat but that went horribly wrong twice.
Started to sand it back.
Fuuuuuuck THAT, just paint and poly over it. And here we are.
Also sprayed the guard black, took apart and fixed the mudbucker so that it's actually humbucking now, and slapped on a sticker my aunt made in 1966. And dat old radio knob. Just a volume knob and pickup selector.
...I'm out of money so it gets a crappy acoustic guitar string

Every time, I think you have a mudbucker in the bridge.
