Never been a Mastodon fan. Just don't get what they're trying to do, not sure they do either.

Long time no see doombros. Dadhood is keeping me hella busy. Haven't played my guitars plugged in in weeks, but do get to play the acoustic for the little girl sometimes. My family got me a PT Jr and a Zap Machine for Christmas, so hopefully I will be able to check it out with some volume in the next few days.

Hope yall have a great Christmas and/or Festivus.

I've also found that Warpig to do well with fuzz and dirty amps. Only thing I couldn't get into much were the cleans, though I don't know how many here do clean cleans. I bet it would do real well rolling the volume back, I never tried doing that. Nick, did you notice a big difference between the Warpig and the Pig90?

The warpig has more of a mid pop to it, honky where as the p90 was darker and not as mid bumped.

I swapped the p90s out of my baritone for custom A8 pups from Alex

The foldovers for the split 7" we are doing with Repellers came in yesterday. Econopress Printing did an awesome job on these. Can't wait for this thing to come out.

Those look great, Conky.

Ugh, reminds me I need to look for a shirt pressing hook up soon for some band T's.

90s in necks
thats what im gonna do
I have an SG with stock p90's in bridge and neck…since playing this, i've all but gone off humbuckers. Theres a few things i like about them:
- They sound alive
- they have great clarity
- there's a snarl you don't get with humbuckers
- they sound great with Fuzz…much better than humbuckers i've tried
- their clean tone is beautiful…like a single coil but beefier (stating the obvious - but should never be forgotten)

with regards to noise…they are noisy, especially at gigging volumes, and can sometimes be overwhelming, but thats nothing a noise gate or volume pedal can't solve.

Also…MERRY XMAS TO YOU ALL!

That's weird I don't get noise issues with mine. I do, however, have very clean amps. I mean, I push them hard but they are in no way "high gain" or even near. And we play loud. I do get noise when I push a fuzz pedal in front but wouldn't any guitar? :idk:

Also, besides Leviathan, I would much rather listen to any Baroness over Mastodon. Specially the first two and red album.
