oooo! SOMEbody posts a lot. in their PANTS.
i've never really paid attention to if there was a buffer in my signal. i've had weird stuff happen with the Pickle Pie B, then i check.
i dunno if i have any buffered pedals that i use.
innnnnnnnnnteresting.

But SOMEbody doesn't like active basses
Though, I miss my Stingray (as opposed to my current L2000) for the 3-band (L2000 is only 2-band)
Sheesh. That's 7.63 a day average

My biggest gripe is that most people see a pedal and automatically ask "Oh,...but is it TBP",...I'm like,...do you even know what that means.
So what if it is?

i know. i've never cared because it hasn't been a problem enough to worry about educating myself on so far.
and yesh..... not a fan of active basses. i LOVE my Dinger passive. i'm gonna order another one soon but i want a broader color option..... which kinda means you HAVE to step up to the Dingwall AB 2's. and i don't want the active pre. i think it has an active off/on switch and or knob tho.
need a second GOOD BASS.
need to get around to listing my other basses that i don't touch anymore damnit.

I feel like I want to move away from active basses myself.
I'm also thinking about refretting my WarWhack with stainless steel frets. They use bell brass for the fret material and they have a flat profile. I feel like a medium tall, properly rounded crown, SS fret will give me a zingier tone.

I'm learning and realizing more the more I work with Darrin. That man knows his shit. One thing I'll say,...it takes a lot more to build one of his basses than most people realize. The production instruments will go a lot quicker.
EDIT: 2 posts away from FAMOUS,...not that I care.
EDIT x2: Oh wait IDOCARE!!!!

You guys are crazy. Active bass all day baby. Chromes too. The most boring tone in the world is p bass and fucking flats. Sounds like a dead moose shitting.

Now that I agree with. Especially since none of these people could tell you the difference between IC, BJT, and FET buffers. And they hear "tonal colouration", when in reality all they're hearing is more high end.
Ruffians and Roustabouts, the lot of them!

Yeah having them properly rounded does really help with intonation getting a clear tone. When they flatten out that would mean the last contact point is shifted from the center of the fret to be a little more twards the bridge, up hight this "could" be a issue with big frets.

I swing both ways...and so do my basses /rimshot
My Big Al's have active/passive electronics, the humbucker one sounds better in active, its a dark sounding bass so I have to goose the high mids to make it sound "right" to me. The SSS one sounds fucking great passive...if I could remove the preamp I would, I can't remember the last time I actually turned on the preamp for an entire song.
